KBS explains, "We didn't cut out all of BEAST's performance"

KBS had stood up to explain their point of view on the matter of BEAST’s cut performance on the aired episode of ‘Dream Concert’.

On the 31st of May, there had been a petition going around Daum Agora titled, “2012 Dream Concert I love Korea.”

On May 12th at the ‘2012 I love Korea Dream Concert’ that took place in Seoul Amsangdong World Cup Stadium, BEAST had sung ‘Fiction’ and ‘Shock’ for the ending stage of the first part. However, on the broadcasted version of the Dream Concert that aired on May 30th, KBS had completely edited out ‘Shock’ and the stage for ‘Fiction’ had barely made on air.

The artists who performed at the concert had sang at most 2 songs and at least 1 song, however for BEAST, they had sang 2 songs and had 1 song completely edited out while the other song was cut in the middle. This has caused an uproar among the fans and the petition on Daum Agora is trying reaching their target of 50000 people.

In response to this event, on the 1st of June KBS had stated through a phone call with Star En, “It is not true that we had edited out all of their performance. The stars who had performed that day had sung at least 2 songs, however we had agreed with the different managements before anything was aired that we will only be airing one song.”

According to KBS, only T-ara had two songs aired because they had a special stage and rest of the other artists had only one song aired on TV.

In addition, as a response to only airing a short bit of BEAST’s ‘Fiction’ KBS stated, “That was out of our hands in regards to the time we had left to air the clip. For example, if this was a sports game and if the time went over, we would have done the same and cut off the broadcast in the middle. We hope that the fans will understand up on this part.”

Meanwhile there are currently 3494 people who have signed the petition on Daum Agora.

cube studio becomes a tourist attraction in chungdamdong

Cube Entertainment which consists of their artists BEAST, 4Minute, G.NA and BTOB, recently opened Cube Studio in Chungdamdong, Seoul, the place where many foreign fans are located.

On April 10th at 6:00PM KST, Cube Entertainment held its grand opening ceremony for Cube Studio with CEO Hong Seungsung along with Cube Entertainment staff members and artists. Despite the rainy weather on the scene, many fans including international fans heard the news and gathered to see the artists at Cube Studio.

Cube studio is a place where artists and fans can interact. Cube Studio is located right underneath of Cube Entertainment company building, where artists’ practice rooms are located on second floor. On the first floor is Cube Studio, where there is the cafe and a merchandise store while on the second floor there are practice rooms and workshops.

In the merchandise store on the first floor, official merchandise items are sold such as CD albums, photoalbums, cups imprinted with BEAST’s lips, autographed t-shirts, and many others. The white-toned interior of Cube Studio is decorated with Cube artists’ playful photos throughout the studio.

Cube Studio has become a tourist location for those international fans that travel to Korea to see their favorite Cube Entertainment artists.

A senior representative of Cube Entertainment stated, “It’s true that it is difficult for international fans to buy official products of their artists online. I believe that this place will be the solution to the problem and of course, it will be a new place to be able to connect with the artists.”

In addition, in the opening ceremony, CEO Hong Seungsung stated, “We have created this area as an encouragement for Korea’s entertainment industry to become the best in the world. If we don’t have communication, nothing will be accomplished. I hope that this place will be a place of communication.”

B2ST fans upset with editing of ’2012 Dream Concert’

B2ST fans are demanding an apology for the poor editing of KBS‘s broadcast of ‘2012 Dream Concert‘.

B2ST performed their hit song, “Fiction” and “Shock“, to end the Part 1 of the Dream Concert. However, on the May 30th broadcast, the performances were heavily edited, angering many fans.

The “Shock” performance was cut, while only the first part of “Fiction” performance was kept. Fans argued that KBS broadcast at least one full song and at most two songs for all other artists.

After the broadcast, fans, furious with the editing, expressed their anger through social networking sites. On May 31st, a petition was started through a portal site, in which fans requested an apology from KBS.
